The onboarding wizard appears automatically after you verify your email and log in for the first time. It consists of a few short steps designed to configure Katalyst for your specific trading style and needs. You can complete the entire wizard in under a minute.
The first step asks you to set your time zone and preferred date format. Getting this right is important because trade timestamps and daily P&L calculations depend on your time zone. If you trade futures on US exchanges but live in Europe, you may want to set your time zone to US Eastern so your daily cutoff aligns with the market close.
Next, you will create your first trading account by entering a name, selecting your broker, and choosing whether it is a live, demo, or funded account. This is the account that your imported trades will be associated with.
The third step offers an optional file import. If you have a CSV export from your broker ready, you can drop it here to populate your account with historical data right away. If you prefer to set things up manually or connect a live data feed later, simply skip this step.
Finally, you will choose your default dashboard layout and notification preferences. Once you click “Finish,” you land on your Dashboard and Katalyst is fully configured. You can always change any of these settings later from the Settings page.
